What are the European Next Generation EU Funds?

With the aim of helping the member states of the European Union to face the economic crisis caused by Covid-19, the European Union has created the European Funds "Next Generation EU”, which represent an ambitious investment project to build a more sustainable, digital and resilient Europe. Better adapted to current and future challenges. These funds aim to promote recovery and economic growth, promoting a modernization of the continental economy based on two axes: sustainability and digitization.

The “Next Generation EU” funds are endowed with 750,000 million to be distributed among the member states between 2021 and 2027. Spain, thanks to its Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, will be the country that will obtain the largest endowment of these funds with close to 150,000 million euros.

Digital kit

The program was presented on November 25 Digital kit, an initiative of the administration to support the implementation of digital solutions in Spanish companies with less than 50 employees. This plan seeks to improve the competitiveness of the self-employed and SMEs by facilitating their digitization. The objective of the program is to subsidize with between twelve and two thousand euros, a series of services that help improve the competitiveness of more than one million SMEs and the self-employed.

The self-employed and SMEs are of fundamental importance in this recovery plan, since they represent two thirds of Spanish GDP and 75% of employment. Thanks to these European funds, plans have already begun to support the rehabilitation of business buildings, self-consumption of energy and mobility (improvement of fleets and industrial vehicles).

What does Evolution Algorithms bring to the Kit Digital program?

Evolution Algorithms develops and markets the software LOGISPLAN in their versions ADVANCE and professional which are included in the categories Process management and Business Intelligence and Analytics eligible for the program Digital Kit: (program financed with funds from the Spanish Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, with funds from the European Next Generation EU Plan).

How to access the Kit Digital aid program?

On December 30, 2021, the regulatory bases of the digital Kit program. These bases are the operating rules for this grant program for the start-up of digitization solutions for freelancers and companies with less than 50 employees.

The next step in the project is the opening of the aid application period for each of the company segments, depending on the number of employees. The first group will be the companies with 10 to 49 employees, for which we expect the call at the beginning of February. From the moment the call opens, there will be a deadline 3 months to apply for aid. A few months later the calls will be opened for companies with less than 10 workers.

The application for the aid will be carried out in a single window enabled by the Government, through a web page that will serve to process the applications.

Distribution of Next Generation funds

The Next Generation EU funds are distributed among the 27 member countries of the European Union in two sections: a 70% on economic indicators prior to the health emergency and a 30% that will be decided in 2022 with the data that reflects the economic evolution between 2020 and 2022. The European Union has assigned a total of €807 thousand million to this initiative. Spain is the EU country that will receive the largest amount of funds with a total of close to €150 thousand million. Its objective is to support the recovery of the economy after the Covid 19 crisis.
